Couches you can really stretch out on.

We hate a stuffy couch. Mmm, actually that's not true. A rigid, Old World style canapé—upon which you should only sit, never lounge—is very cool. But these days, people are looking to lounge exclusively. They want deep sofas they can cozy up to watch a movie in. Even when they're spending money on luxury sofas they want something big and plush. So, we must give the people what they want: The best sectional sofas.

Everything on this list is crazy comfy, we'll say that to start. There's a million different fabric options, from classic leather to velvet, which is having quite the moment right now. But, these are not little loveseats. These are big, sectional sofas that can essentially serve as sleeper sofas. So get ready reader. It's time to throw out that futon, burn it in the backyard for all we care, and order some new swatches. Once you buy this sectional, you're never going back.

Need a sectional? One that's inoffensive? One that fits with any, literally any, decor? Burrow has you covered. The Nomad has a modern shape and comes in a few really nice leather upholsteries.

Toss in some bolster pillows for a little extra comfort, and you're all set. This is why Burrow has taken over the D2C couch game.

You can't click into a furniture website without seeing a sectional with that rectangular chaise. We just showed you one. Spoiler, we're going to show you more.

All this to say, this round chaise from Castlery feels truly unique. Plus, it's not without its practical benefits. The chaise fits multiple people, and the round shape accommodates every imaginable lounge style. If you're worried about the unusual shape, it's toned down with a simple sofa half and neutral upholstery. It'll work in your space, trust us.

It's in the title. This sectional is perfect for cozying up, turning on the TV and just chilling out. Big plus cushions and pillows to match, you'll never want to get up. Plus, Sundays uses its proprietary LiveLife fabric, which is some of the best stain-resistant fabric out there.

We really love a double wide sectional. The chaise portion essentially functions like a bed in your living room. Great for lounging, especially when there's more than one person that wants to stretch out.

We really like the wooden base of this sectional. The full length really pops well against the upholstery. Speaking of, West Elm gives you well over 100 swatches to choose from. If you really want to try something new—a pop of color or a new fabric—this is a great piece to do that with.

How is "Best on a Budget" different from "Best Bang for Your Buck?" You ask. Here's how: This one is cheap. Barely over the $1,000 threshold, this is a great pick for someone that just landed that first big job and wants to dump their college futon.

While Floyd does the Scandinavian look well, Danish brand HAY is one of the main exporters of that look and design ethos to here in America. This couch, with its fun soft and rounded shape, is an excellent corner sectional.

What really gives this one the Best Looking title is the upholstery options. We love elevated shape and design, but it's also about customization: There are about 50 options you can choose from. There's no way one of the swatches won't look great in your home.

This isn't the cheapest piece on this list, but it's under $3,000 for a big, five-seat sectional. That alone is a pretty good value. Add to it two high-quality sustainable fabrics—of which we like the velvet—and you've got the perfect investment. The design is simple, modern, and never going to go out of style. Can't beat it!

The wooden structure on this Maiden sectional is really stunning. It wraps all the way around the couch, and even extends with a built in side table. It's a perfect blend of form and function, and in the more natural wood finishes, it gives your space a nice, natural feel.

The only drawbacks are going to be size (it's big!) and, less likely, all that wood. If you've got hardwood floors, or a space that's already pretty natural, you just want to make sure everything can live harmoniously, because this couch is going to be your centerpiece.

A few of the options on this list are included for their fun or interesting shapes, but this corner sectional from CB2 might take the cake. We love that mid-century rounded look, and this half-circle shaped piece takes it to the extreme. It's a really fun piece of furniture with some equally fun fabric options.

But, the shape is also the only real problem you might face. Because it's round, it doesn't fit neatly into a corner. This isn't a sectional that will maximize a corner space.

If you love that Scandinavian look but want something considerably more durable than IKEA furniture, Floyd has a lot of pieces that fit the mold. This sectional is the perfect example. Clean lines that won't stand out in any living room, and a real intention put into the design.

But if you really need value, you gotta go to where value lives. While Amazon is pretty desolate in terms of furniture, this velvet sectional is not a bad shout. Design-y enough, and with three decent color options. For under $1,000 there's not much you can complain about.

Wayfair, the other big budget retailer, has you covered if you need a (faux) leather couch on the cheap. Vegan leather, a chaise, and nice armrest cushions for when you're stretching out and laying down. Everything you need.
