Solitude Mountain Resort, located in Utah's Big Cottonwood Canyon, is auctioning off 75 pieces of history on August 1st.

The resort is in the process of replacing the historic Eagle Express with a new six-person lift slated to open next season. 75 chairs from the old lift will be auctioned for charity online.

More details below:

According to Solitude, proceeds from chairlift sales will go to a new charity called 'The Solitude Fund'. Details on the charity have yet to be released.

The Eagle Express was the first detachable quad chairlift installed in the state of Utah. It was an immediate game-changer when it opened in 1989.

Ascending the mountain at quicker speeds, and with easier unloading and loading, made the chairs a highly-desirable luxury for skiers and snowboarders alike.

Resorts across the state rushed to keep up with the Eagle Express in the years that followed. Soon, high-speed detachable quad chairlifts were commonplace in the Beehive State.

The new six-person Eagle Express is expected to travel roughly the same speed and transport an extra 200 skiers per hour. Check out the stats of the old lift below:

Vertical: 452 m (1,482 ft.)

Length: 1,592 m (5,223 ft)

Ride Time: ~6 minutes

Uphill Capacity: 2,800 skiers per hour

Make: CTEC
